THE LIBERTINES - "UP THE BRACKET" (2002)

Os caras começaram no final de 2001, com o single "What a Waster", fez sucesso lá na terra da rainha, tanto é que o lado b, "I Get Along" também virou hit. Em 2002, nas gringas, sai o "Up the Bracket".

Cd muito bom, muitos dizem que tem uma "pegada" meio The Clash.
Destaques para a faixa-título, I Get Along, Boys in the Band, Death on the Stairs e a empolgante Horrorshow.

"The Libertines" (2004)


Esse cd tem umas músicas com melodias mais tranqüilas. A primeira vez que escutei Libertines foi no carro, tocou no rádio "Can't Stand me Now".Peguei o cd, gostei pra caramba, escutei por vários dias, fui escutar em seguida o primeiro cd, estranhamente, achei muito diferente, abandonei (!) o primeiro cd e só fui escutar muito tempo depois. A música "Tell the King" do primeiro cd, quando eu escutava, me lembrava muito o segundo cd, a partir dela que comecei a escutar as outras músicas.

BABYSHAMBLES - "Down in Albion" (2005)

O lance é que depois de um tempo, a banda começou a aparecer na mídia mais por causa do junkie Peter Doherty e suas aventuras. Peter Doherty é "convidado a se retirar da banda", até que resolva seus problemas com as drogas.Isso aconteceu logo quando saiu o segundo cd deles. Quando os Libertines fizeram o show no Brasil, em 2004, Doherty já não estava na banda.
O cara saiu e resolveu montar sua própria banda. Daí... surge Babyshambles. Continuou com a cocaína, juntinho com a Kate Moss. Atualmente ele está em uma clínica de reabilitação em Portugal, é o que estão dizendo, que ele viu Jesus Cristo e não sei o quê. Vai saber...
O cd é bacana, a melhor música, de longe, é "Fuck Forever". Parece um cd produzido meio às pressas. Eu acho que a banda é mais reconhecida pelo fato do Peter Doherty estar nela do que pelas músicas em si.

Dirty Pretty Things - "Waterloo To Anywhere"(2006)



Peter Doherty cai fora, John Hassall também (formou a banda "Yeti", mas ainda não ouvi, não vou comentar). The Libertines passa a se chamar DIRTY PRETTY THINGS! Por causa de pressões feitas pelos advogados de Doherty. Foi só chegar o guitarrista Anthony Rossamondo e o baixista Didz Hammond.
Essa banda sim é próxima de Libertines. Ao contrário de Babyshambles. Tem uma pegada mais rock'n roll.
Destaques para 'Bang Bang You're Dead", "Gin and Milk" e "If You Love a Woman".
